What is Brass CuZn39Pb2 Rod?
Brass CuZn39Pb2 rods are composed using a copper-zinc-lead alloy containing fine lead particles. This grade of brass is mainly supplied as a rod for forging stock and used for hot-pressed components. This alloy is primarily used as a high-quality anti-friction material in many applications. Brass CuZn39Pb2 alloy is a frequently utilized alloy for machining treatment, and it is perfectly suitable for hot forming and forging.
Composition of Brass CuZn39Pb2 Alloy:
The CuZn39Pb2 composition mainly consists of Copper, Zinc, Aluminium, Nickel, Iron, Lead, and Tin elements. Thus the Brass CuZn39Pb2 Forged Bar can be readily welded in a hot and cold state. Apart from this, these bar products possess some exceptional features that we will discuss here.
Characteristics of Brass CuZn39Pb2 Forged Bar:

Other points to be considered:
As for corrosion resistance, it has poor resistance to various saline solutions and organic fluids.
It is not resistant to acid, a wet sulfur compound, wet ammonia, especially sensitive to stress cracking under stress and to de-zinc in a stress-free condition.
CuZn39Pb2 is highly suitable for hot-formed parts. Due to a mixture of α- and β-phase and the presence of Pb, it is excellent for drilling parts, e.g., to be used in automotive or electronic applications and drinking water applications. These bar products made of CuZn39Pb2 are enlisted for making products used in drinking water (in category B: fittings and connectors, pumps, and other devices and in category C: components whose surface is in contact with drinking water at less than 10% of the total surface).
