Why Duplex F51 for rods?
F51 is duplex stainless steel with some amount of austenite, ferrite microstructure. This material combines good mechanical strength and ductility. It also offers corrosion resistance in various industrial environments ranging from good to best quality.
This duplex material is generally exported after the annealing process on a product that offers a significant yield strength in excess of 65 ksi (450 Mpa). Heat treatment cannot be hardened, but a cold working manufacturing procedure can achieve stronger surface strengths with this material. These nitrogen bars enhance duplex stainless steel developed to combat common corrosion problems encountered with 300 stainless steel alloy.
This alloy can substitute the 300 series austenitic stainless steel in all application fields in which a high amount of mechanical strength and lower weight are required.
