What is Brass?
Brass is primarily an alloy of copper and zinc to which additions of other elements such as manganese, arsenic, aluminium, silicon, and lead are often made. These additions are usually small but increase the separate properties of the alloy, resulting in a material that is ideal for specific application areas. The variety of compositions give specific benefits such as good strength and ductility or excellent corrosion resistance, high wear resistance, free machinability, or high conductivity.
Naval Brass CZ112:
CZ112 is commonly known as Naval Brass due to its improved corrosion resistance in marine environments. The general composition is 37% zinc and 62% copper, with a significant addition of 1% tin. It gives an increased corrosion resistance together with a harder and stronger duplex structure to improve the mechanical properties. The increase in corrosion resistance allows the material to be used both in seawater and in other slightly aggressive fluids, and it also offers better strength levels than many of the basic alpha brasses combined with excellent hot formability. Our company manufactures these forged bars shows excellent mechanical and physical properties like hardness, tensile strength. The processes for the production of these rods are hot forging, pressing, and machining.
Key Features of Naval Brass CZ112 Forged Bars:
• In marine environments, it shows very good resistance to corrosion
• Outstanding hot formability
• Excellent strength
• Maintains properties at cryogenic temperatures
Applications of Naval Brass CZ112 Forged Bars:
• Marine applications
• Shipbuilding
• Fasteners in corrosion resistant applications
• General machined components
• Decorative fittings
