Composition of Stainless steel 904L round bars:
Stainless Steel 904L round bars are non-stabilized austenitic stainless steel. The L in the name of the grade designates the carbon content included.
Nickel, copper, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur, carbon are the main elements included in the composition.
Besides, Chromium and Nickel, other elements like Molybdenum, Copper, And Manganese are added to this stainless steel grade alloy to enhance the overall properties. This 904L high alloy stainless steel material Bar is added with copper in small amounts for improving its resistance to strong reducing acids, like sulphuric acid, because of the addition of copper.
Characteristics of UNS NO8904 Round Bars:
These round bars having high alloy composition provide excellent resistance to pitting and corrosion in an extensive range of environments. However, the lower carbon content of SS 904L round bars helps its welding characteristics.
It is resistant to stress-related corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion in warm seawater and chlorine compounds containing environments. The addition of nickel to these alloy round bars enhances the corrosion resistance characteristics of the Stainless steel grade.
Apart from the above features of UNS NO8904 round bar delivered are excellent formability, improved toughness, and excellent weldability.
UNS NO8904 Round Bars are non-magnetic, so they can be used in applications with no magnetic activity requirement.
