What is a Duplex F51 Round Bar?
F51 is duplex stainless steel with a proportionate austenite ferrite microstructure. The duplex steels are categorized into three as a standard duplex, super duplex, and lean duplex. The Duplex F51 round bar is a typical duplex grade, and it is one of the most used the duplex grade bars.

The material combines good mechanical strength and flexibility with moderate to good corrosion resistance in various environments. This material is generally supplied in the annealed condition giving yield strengths above 65 KSI (450Mpa). This material cannot be hardened by heat treatment, but powerful surface strengths can be achieved by cold working. The F51 Duplex Round Bar has 43ksi minimum yield strength and 105ksi minimum tensile strength.
Composition: The material comprises 21% chromium, 4.5% nickel, carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, molybdenum, and nitrogen in the document. This composition allows the F51 Duplex round Bars to have high performance under elevated temperatures for a long time.

Application: Duplex F51 Round Bar is used for the ferritic grade strength and austenitic grade corrosion resistance combined in a single material. Industrial applications include pumps, valves, pipework, flanges, etc., together with various applications in the oil and gas, brewing, power generation, and chemical engineering industries. This alloy can be used successfully as an alternative to 300 series austenitic stainless steel sheets in almost all applications where higher mechanical strength/lower weight is required.
