Properties of stainless steel 440C round bar:
This 440C grade round bar has the property that it is very easily air-hardened. For welding on this alloy, these 440C round bars should be preheated to a temperature of 260-degree Celsius. In order to post welding treatment, the alloy should be heated between the temperature of 732 -760 degrees Celsius for 6 hours.
In order to Hot Work this 440C Stainless Steel round bar, it is preheated to a temperature of 760 degrees Celsius. During hot working treatment, the temperature can gradually be increased up to a range of 1038 – 1204 degrees Celsius.
Annealing the 440C round Bar can be performed between the temperature ranges of 843-871 degrees Celsius, followed by slowly cooling in the furnace.
Same as that of hot working procedure, the temperature at the time of hardening can be increased up to 1010 degrees Celsius, followed by cooling in air or oil.
However, these stainless steel 440C round Bars exhibit excellent characteristics to work under normal and abnormal conditions. Thus, these rods are able to resist chlorine, oxidizing media, and other critical situations. They do not undergo crevice, pitting, and stress cracking corrosion, mostly desired by the aqueous and saltwater industries.
