Why is High tensile Brass CZ114 alloy used?
CZ114 alloy is the standard grade of high tensile brass and has a duplex structure. It contains alloying additions of aluminum, iron, and manganese to improve the strength compared to standard brass and make this alloy ideal for more demanding applications. The aluminum content not only assists in increasing the mechanical properties but also improves the general corrosion resistance of the alloy by the natural formation of an adherent aluminum oxide film on the surface of the material. The CZ114 offers reasonable machinability and its good hot stamping capabilities allow it to be used for components such as gas valves, fittings, pumps and fasteners.
High Tensile Brass CZ114 Round Bars:
High Tensile Brass CZ114 round bar is a versatile high strength, hot workable, machinable engineering alloy. The addition of Tin to the composition of Brass alloy CZ114 increases the round bar’s resistance to corrosion in marine and mildly acidic environments. Hot-working of Brass alloy CZ114 round bar is excellent. The hot forge-ability rating of Brass alloy CZ114 round bar is very good at 80 compared to forging brass which is rated as 100. The recommended hot working temperature for this CZ114 round bar is between 625 and 750°C. Soldering and brazing of these round bars are rated as excellent.
