Why is Brass CuZn39Pb2 alloy used?
CuZn39Pb2 has a high copper content, which improves its performance in cold working and alloy formability with excellent machinability properties, allowing a good chip removal due to the content in the lead. In addition, it also has excellent hot working properties, which makes it ideal for parts that suffer a significant deformation in the hot stamping process and need a posterior. This alloy is a commonly used alloy for mechanical machining. This alloy has high hot working and forging properties. Cold forming is only possible to a lesser extent.
