What is the chemical composition of the Hastelloy rods?
The base constituents of Hastelloy C276 rods are chemically composed of three main elements such as nickel, chromium, and molybdenum. This wrought Haynes Alloy C276 is cold Finished, and it is generally considered a versatile alloy that is highly corrosion-resistant.
Properties of the Hastelloy 276 forged bars:
Hastelloy C276 Alloy tends to exhibit superior resistance to localized and normal corrosion resistance, oxidizing media, and reducing media resistance. Because of Hastelloy’s versatility, this material, C276 forged bars, is highly recommended to clients across various sectors. These bars are especially for those applications where there are chances of upset conditions which are likely to occur or for applications in multipurpose units.
This forged Bar has excellent resistance over a wide variety of chemical procedure environments. Also, it has the ability to resist rust in a host of media, which consist of strong oxidizers (namely ferric and cupric chlorides), hot contaminated media (either organic or inorganic). It also has the quality to resist chlorine, formic acid, acetic acid, along with excellent resistance to seawater and brine solutions.
Due to excellent resistance to sulfur-containing compounds and chloride ions, these Hastelloy 276 rods can be used in flue gas desulfurization systems. It also has excellent resistance to localized rust-like pitting, and the alloy is able to resist stress corrosion cracking.
It is considered that Hastelloy 276 is one of the few materials that could withstand chlorine’s corrosive effects.
Application areas of the Hastelloy C-276 forged rods:
Hastelloy C276 forged bars and rods are considered well suited for applications in most chemical processes even when utilized in an as-welded condition.
