Cast:

The casting procedure is a means of producing part geometries with very little waste material and requires little post-processing to achieve the desired geometry. A wide variety of materials can be used, and the surface may be treated in a wide variety of ways.

In addition to producing high-quality, high-strength pieces, forging requires a considerable amount of finishing work to eliminate excess. Furthermore, concave surfaces and few overhangs are its main limitations.

This does not make them ideal for high-volume or customized work that does not require bulk production, however, since billets are not a manufacturing method but simply a material, such as ingots, nuggets, or rounds, that are frequently used for CNC machining after which high-quality, high-precision parts can be produced without costly technology.
